The Compass

Consistently reading the bible unlocks wisdom we need for living

Scripture References: Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Ephesians 6:14-17, Joshua 1:8, Ecclesiastes 1:9, Matthew 6:19-21, John 16:33, Psalms 119:105, 2 Peter 1:21

From Series: "Patterns"

Our world is filled with rhythms that drive the engines of life. Seasons consistently shift from one to the next in a pattern that is easily predicted, bringing periods of birth, growth and harvest. The sun, earth and moon dance in orbits that bring us darkness and light, allowing us to distinguish one day from the next and signaling the time for sleeping and waking. Without these forces of nature, life would not be possible. These natural rhythms were put in place by a God who also designed spiritual patterns for us to follow in life. In the same way that nature’s rhythm brings life and growth to the natural world, God’s spiritual patterns allow us to grow and mature spiritually. Spiritual disciplines like praying and reading the bible must be built into our routines consistently so that we can develop a deep relationship with the one who created us. Let’s explore the tools that God has given us to build a healthy spiritual life.
